Rolling Stones

Another classic Rock band who started in 1962 is the Rolling Stones. Fun Fact: they are actually my uncle’s favorite band, so he got a tattoo of their logo on his shoulder. Anyways the band consists of the following:

Lead Vocals – Mick Jagger (Present)

Lead Guitar – Keith Richards (Present)

Guitar – Brian Jones (Past)

Guitar – Mick Taylor

Guitar – Ronnie Wood (Present)

Piano – Ian Stewart (Past)

Bass – Bill Wyman (Past)

Bass – Darryl Jones (Present)

Drums – Charlie Watts (Present)

I know that may be confusing so out of the original 5 members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Charlie Watts are still playing for the band. They are also accompanied by Ronnie Wood and Darryl Jones. So there are still three original members in the band today and they are still touring and playing shows.

Arctic Monkeys

I am going to change up the flow of this blog from classic rock bands to more modern artists, such as the Arctic Monkeys. It’s funny, I first heard them was in the back of a limo for a wedding. My buddy got married about a year ago and on the way to the wedding one of the other groomsmen put on “Do I Wanna Know” and I loved it. I asked him who it was and of course he told me. So I started listening to more of their songs and they are pretty good.

Now “Do I Wanna Know” has been killed by the radio so I do not really listen to that particular song. But their other tracks are pretty good as well and I suggest that you check them out if you have not yet.  Read Full Post…

Welcome back everyone! I loved getting the feedback from that first article! The Beatles truly were a talented band.

The next English band I would like to touch on is the one, the only, Queen. The original stars consisted of Freddie Mercury as the lead vocalist and on piano,  Brian May on lead guitar and vocals, John Deacon on bass, and Roger Taylor on drums and vocals. They formed in 1971 and had a successful career for about 20 consistent years.

In 1973 they released their debut self titled album “Queen.” Though critics were impressed, their sales on the album in the U.S. said otherwise. Most people today would have probably never heard of any of the hits from this album or their next album released “Queen II” in 1974.

I am going to skip the history a bit and head onto the big hits such as: We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen,  Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure, and so much more.

First off, I have to give credit to Teri Fontaine, co-owner of, for introducing me to Queen when she used to babysit me back in the 1990’s. I remember I would always tell her to play “We Will Rock You” because it was my favorite song when I was a kid.

The Beatles

So as I said on my previous article (click here to view) I want to start this blogging site with a bang by doing an article on the legendary Beatles. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are all names I am sure you are familiar with. The Beatles are arguable one of the most iconic bands every. With top hits such as Yellow Submarine and Come Together, it is not hard to see why they have made their way up to the top of the charts.

In 1960 the iconic English rock band The Beatles was formed in Liverpool, England.  The “Fab Four” became some of the most influential people in the music industry ever. Unfortunately, Lennon and Harrison are no longer with us. However, McCartney and Ringo continue to work in the music industry and mentor new and upcoming artist. These four men were truly music geniuses. It would be incredible if all four of them were still alive to have a reunion show or something of that sort; it would be simply incredible. But I am thankful three of them were alive after I was born. And now that I actually appreciate music, I still get to enjoy the two still alive and who are in the industry.

Anyways on to the critique of The Beatles. All four members of The Beatles are in the “Rock and Roll Hall of  Fame.” They also have the most “Top 100 Songs,” along with being the best selling musician artist in the states and sold the most number one hits than any other musician in the UK. Not to mention their countless awards from Grammy’s to Academy’s. With stats like this, anyone can see how truly talented these men are.   Read Full Post…

Hey, welcome to my new site, Everything Music UK. I am super excited to have you on here, and reading what I have to say about some of my favorite artists from back home. I hope you get as excited about music as I do.

Okay, a quick few things about myself before we get going. I am a music major, studying at a local community college. I am an aspiring musician and hope to make beautiful music for everyone to enjoy someday. It will be a long road, but in the end it will be worth it.

In the mean time, I am going to be using this site both as a journal for myself and to bring you information about these artists. I am going to use this for myself by writing about what I am learning. It will help me remember what I have learned by getting it down on a document and you guys get to learn what I am learning as well. It is a win-win for everyone.

In my bio (which you can view here) I mentioned how I believe that music is the best form of expression. There is so much emotion to music and that is how we call can relate and connect to music so well. Music is one of the most unique things in the universe. I personally believe music is the best remedy for anything.

Anyways, I will try and get my first official post up within the next 24 hours. I am thinking of starting off with a bang and doing an article on the Beatles. But I do not know for sure yet. Let me know what you think. Write a comment, send me an email, and I will see you soon! Have a great one guys!
